A Week of Learning!

This week has been an extremely eventful one. I spent Wednesday night attending a temple session by myself and definately felt more at peace. I took some time to just contemplate some of the events that have happened and to reflect on all that I have.

Because I am the secretary for WABE (Washington Association of Bilingual Education) I was forturnate enough to have a private dinner with three highly renowned women! Alma Flor Ada (author) Suny Paz (singer) and Isabel Compoy (author, singer, and poet) It was just me and the three of them!!! I had my own private seminar! We had over 600 attendees and were extremely busy, but I loved every minute of it.

Busy Week!

This week has been incredibly busy! I did have the opportunity to walk with Shannon and Celeste this week and am incredibly sad that I won't be able to this coming week. I look forward to our walks and talks!

Kelly and I went up to watch Casey perform in a track meet in Peshastin. I love seeing him focused and striving to improve himself. He definately inspires me!

On Thursday, I finally had the chance to go to one of my nephew's, Trey, soccer game. He reminds me so much of Casey it sometimes scares me. Everytime he had a moment of down time, Trey could be found either sitting on the ball or watching what everyone else was doing.

Happy Easter!

I went outside to look at our hard work from last summer and this is what I found! What a way to celebrate Easter.

As I have pondered the meaning of this beautiful day, I realize how much I have to be truly grateful for. This year has been a year of challenges and rewards. I was recently called to be the Gospel Doctrine teacher at church and began with an awful attitude. I have been serving in Young Women for the past six months (or more) and really was not happy to leave the young women or the other wonderful leaders. I haven't been released yet, so I am enjoying this time. However, I am slowly realizing that I am not the one in charge here and that my Father in Heaven has a reason for everything that happens. He knew I wanted to be more regular about studying the scriptures but this is not what I had in mind! Kelly reminded me that I have been saying I wanted to "grow-up" as a teacher. I meant to third or forth grade! He then told me to be careful what I pray for. I will remember that for the future!

Happenings in My Life

In March a friend, Beth, and I were treated to a trip to Disney. I am truly spoiled. My wonderful husband encouraged me to go and on top of that some wonderful friends got us into the parks for free! (Thank you Lindsea and Travis) This post is only about six weeks late. We had a blast! I loved our resort (Pop Century) and my traveling companion was perfect! We share a lot of the same interests, so there weren't any problems deciding where to go. I will say that I went waaaaaaaaaay out of my comfort zone and rode almost every roller coaster in Disney and Universal. I didn't want Beth to have to ride the rides by herself. Much to my suprise, I enjoyed a few of them! We went to see the Blue Man Group with Lindsea and Travis. They were incredible! I am looking forward to next years trip!

Update

I don't know where the time has gone! It has been over three months since I last posted and we have been busy!! Casey finished footbal and was chosen to be a captain for next year. Andy is in his last year of community college and trying to get a job in Alaska for the summer. Kelly is still working at Town Toyota and I am still teaching.

Crafty Weekend

I spent my three day weekend hauling rocks for my waterfall and then making halloween cards (22 of them!) and a really neat give thanks wall hanging. My mom came to visit as well as my sister and her boys. We went to Casey's football game and then had a sleepover. What fun!

Kelly surprised us with great tickets to the Foreigner concert! We were six rows away from the stage and acutally spent the majority of the concert standing next to the stage. The best part was that the boys enjoyed it as much as we did.
